Cindy Gilbert is a dedicated music educator and percussion specialist who has spent more than three decades inspiring students through music education. She is passionate about encouraging musicians of all ages and is excited to help continue growing opportunities for music education in Rutherford County.

Cindy earned her undergraduate degree from Limestone University in Gaffney, South Carolina, and completed her graduate studies at Valdosta State University in Georgia, both with an emphasis in Music Education and Percussion Studies.

Throughout her teaching career, Cindy worked primarily in Polk County, North Carolina, where she taught music for twenty-eight years, in addition to teaching in South Carolina and Georgia. Her experience spans pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade, giving her a unique understanding of how students develop musically at every stage of their education.

An active performer, Cindy has appeared with the Asheville Symphony Orchestra, Suncoast Sound Drum and Bugle Corps, collegiate percussion ensembles, concert bands, and a variety of vocal ensembles, including madrigal groups, church choirs, and praise teams.

At Wild Roots Fine Arts Academy, Cindy teaches marching percussion, orchestral percussion, and percussion ensemble, helping students build strong rhythmic foundations, technical skills, confidence, and a lifelong appreciation for making music together.
