Be a part of the TEAM that's cultivating creativity!

Students will learn the basic techniques of playing the violin, viola, and cello, as well as reading music and playing within a group setting, in this team-based performance ensemble.  This is a beginning level program and no prior experience is required.

Each team can accept up to 14 players. Minimum of 6 players required to form a team.  More teams will be added with enough interest.  You may contact Wild Roots to see what positions are available.

Students are expected to be on good behavior at all times, being attentive and listening to instructors.  Anyone that is constantly disruptive may be asked to leave the program.

*Learning skills that can be applied and utilized for a lifetime of enrichment.

*Each team will meet once a week to practice together. 
*All teams will come together once a month to practice as a group.
*Several "games" will be played throughout the year at different venues.

Schedule:
12 Practices, Mondays, starting Sept. 12 - Dec. 5 (No practice Oct. 31)
TEAM Grades 3-5:  Mondays, 4:00-5:00
TEAM Grades 6-8: Mondays, 5:15-6:15
TEAM Adult: Tuesdays, 7:00-8:00

2 All-Team Combined Practices: Sundays, Oct. 23 & Nov. 20, 2:30-4:30

First Game (concert): TBA

Instruments are available for rental. Rental fee is due at the first practice.
Violin/Viola: $45 for fall session
Cello: $100 for fall session

Musical Morning OR Afternoon Class

A family music class that will begin to build the musical foundation that your child will benefit from in future musical and life experiences. We will try out rhythm instruments, listen to a wide range of music, explore our musical environment, and have fun with many other musical activities. Come prepared to have fun, learn about music, and do lots of singing!

MONDAYS (ages 2-4 years, with an adult present)

Musical Journey Class

A class that will explore many aspects of our musical development and appreciation for music. This session will focus on the Percussion and Woodwind/Brass instrument families.

Music Mind Games Class

Music Mind Games is a curriculum of more than 300 cooperative games for teaching music theory and reading. Students learn sophisticated concepts involving rhythm, dictation, note reading, and sight singing in the form of imaginative games. Thanks to a nurturing and teaching philosophy, sequential pedagogical concepts, clever materials and mind-stimulating games, students grow to love and be excited about music theory at any age. A great class to learn about music while you are deciding which instrument to take or enhance your instrumental learning experience. No previous music instruction required.

MONDAYS  10 classes: 5:00-5:30 PM (ages 6-8)
OR 5:30-6:00 (ages 8-10)

Private Lessons

Private music lessons are the most effective and efficient way to teach students a musical instrument. At Wild Roots, our goal as instructors is to lay a solid foundation, teaching each student proper technique of their instrument, as well as the ability to read accurately and confidently, the language of music notation.
