Lesley Bush

Lesley M. Bush is an accomplished pianist, organist, church musician, and educator with more than 45 years of teaching and performance experience. A native of Polk County, North Carolina, Lesley began his formal music education at the age of six and became a church pianist at just eleven years old. Since then, music ministry has remained a central part of both his professional and personal life.

Lesley earned a bachelor's degree in Religion with a minor in Church Music from Mars Hill College before continuing his studies at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky, where he was ordained in 1989.

Throughout his career, Lesley has served as accompanist, conductor, and music director for numerous choirs and community ensembles, including the North Carolina Baptist Singers, Third Century Singers, Union Symphony Chorus, and the Carolina Community Chorus, which he directed on twelve occasions. He also served as musical director for Tryon Youth Center's production of Annie and is a former pianist with The Symphony of Rutherford County.

For nearly nineteen years, Lesley served as Minister of Music–Director/Organist at Tryon Presbyterian Church. He later served as Church Administrator and Minister of Music–Organist at Rutherfordton Presbyterian Church and currently serves as Minister of Music–Organist at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Hendersonville, North Carolina.

In addition to teaching piano for more than four decades, Lesley became a Certified Piano Tuner-Technician through the Piano Technician Academy in 2020. He is an active member of the American Guild of Organists (AGO) and the Presbyterian Association of Musicians (PAM).

At Wild Roots Fine Arts Academy, Lesley enjoys helping students develop strong musical foundations while discovering the joy, discipline, and confidence that come through studying the piano. Beyond music, he is an accomplished photographer whose landscape and architectural images have been widely published in the United States and England. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Rutherford County Historical Society.
