Patricia B. Harrelson

Voice Pedagogy / Youth Choral League Coach

Patricia B. Harrelson is an accomplished vocal performer, educator, and director with decades of experience in both academic and sacred music settings. A dedicated and passionate teacher, she served as Assistant Professor of Music at Gardner-Webb University in Boiling Springs, NC, where she taught applied voice, vocal pedagogy, and directed the university’s Opera Workshop. She was later honored with full professorship upon retirement and inducted into Gardner-Webb’s Faith, Service, and Leadership Hall of Fame.

Mrs. Harrelson is a Doctor of Musical Arts candidate in Vocal Performance at Florida State University, and holds a Master of Music from Converse College and a Bachelor of Music from the North Carolina School of the Arts. Her additional studies have taken her to the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and the renowned Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena, Italy.

She has studied under respected teachers including Jane Rolandi, Roy Delp, Rose Bampton, and Norman Farrow, and has participated in elite master classes and vocal seminars led by legendary artists such as John Wustman, Richard Miller, and Eileen Farrell.

As a performing artist, her extensive repertoire spans solo recitals, chamber music, choral solos, opera, and musical theatre. In addition to her academic work, she has served as music director for several churches across North Carolina and has been an adjudicator for numerous NATS competitions at both state and regional levels.

Her recognitions include listings in Who’s Who Among American Teachers and Outstanding Young Women of America, along with multiple academic scholarships and assistantships throughout her career. She is a proud member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing and the Music Teachers National Association.
