William Newton

Trumpet, Trombone, Euphonium, & Tuba

William Newton is a senior Music Education major at Gardner-Webb University with over 15 years of trumpet experience. He currently studies under Tim Hudson and has developed a strong foundation as both a performer and educator. William has taught private lessons and partnered with organizations such as the Salvation Army to provide accessible music instruction.

A versatile and accomplished musician, William is an active performer in the local music scene. He frequently plays with a variety of ensembles, choirs, and bands, and is a long-standing member of the Shelby Brass Quintet. His performance experience includes work with numerous professional and community groups.

At Gardner-Webb, William has been involved in a broad range of ensembles, including the Symphonic Band, Orchestra, Marching Band, Sports Band, Gardner Singers, Concert Choir, Jazz Band, Old Time Ensemble, Gardner-Webb Trumpet Ensemble, Brass Choir, and Brass Quintet.

Beyond the stage, William is a passionate advocate for music education. He is committed to inspiring and nurturing the next generation of musicians, and firmly believes in music’s power to enrich lives and build communities.
