William Newton

William Newton is an accomplished trumpeter and music educator who is passionate about helping students develop their musical abilities while discovering the joy of making music. A senior Music Education major at Gardner-Webb University, William has more than fifteen years of trumpet experience and currently studies with Tim Hudson.

Dedicated to both teaching and community engagement, William has taught private trumpet lessons and partnered with organizations such as The Salvation Army to provide accessible music instruction. He believes that every student should have the opportunity to experience the confidence, discipline, and creativity that music can inspire.

An active performer throughout the region, William regularly performs with a variety of orchestras, bands, choirs, and chamber ensembles. He is a longtime member of the Shelby Brass Quintet and has performed with numerous professional and community organizations.

At Gardner-Webb University, William has participated in a wide variety of ensembles, including the Symphonic Band, Orchestra, Marching Band, Sports Band, Gardner Singers, Concert Choir, Jazz Band, Old Time Ensemble, Trumpet Ensemble, Brass Choir, and Brass Quintet, reflecting his versatility as both a performer and collaborator.

At Wild Roots Fine Arts Academy, William enjoys helping students build strong fundamentals, musical confidence, and a lifelong appreciation for music. He is committed to encouraging each student to reach their full potential while fostering a love of learning that extends far beyond the lesson studio.
